Critic Review: Astoria Moscato Malvasia is rich pink in color withsmall soft bubbles. Delicate aromas of strawberries, raspberries, and violets lead into juicy berry flavors with a hint of honey, finishing with a delightful sweetness.

My Review: This was one of the first wines I have tried where I could honestly say it was just too sweet for my liking. The wine smelled very sweet, and I was able to get a strong raspberry scent. My initial taste was a positive one. There was a burst of fruit flavors, and then a nice taste lingered. After tasting the wine some more, the sweetness really kicked into overdrive. The moscato took on a syrupy sweet taste, and the sugar became overpowering. As much as I love moscato, this one was just too much. I imagine it pairing well with a tart fruit, or maybe something bitter to cut down the sweetness.

Overall, I was disappointed in this wine. It was far too sweet for my liking, and I think it is best enjoyed with tart foods.
